CLS-Compatible Laser Printers

For a laser printer to be compatible with CLS, it must:

• Not be a host-based printer.
• Be able to be connected using a parallel port, even if it also supports a USB port.
• Support MS-DOS based software running under Windows® 98, ME, NT, XP or 2000 or 2003.
• Support a version of HP’s Printer Control Language (PCL 4, PCL 5e or PCL 6).
• Be able to accept downloaded soft tax fonts.
